Hosted by Sam Butters, the founder of Progressive Rock AZUSA. On Recollections, I discuss my personal thoughts and memories of progressive rock and related music. On this month’s show, I will be discussing and playing the music from my personal recollections of the first time I heard music from the Psychedelic band It’s A Beautiful Day and from the Art-Rock/ProgRock band Genesis. Later in the show will be my “Versus” segment, where I will play and compare an original musical work by The Rolling Stones, to its later prog cover by Nektar. For you “completest” out there, that segment should be an interesting one to explore. Since this is the holiday season of 2025, I will be playing one of my ProgRock XMAS favorites for you, and it will be from Keith Emerson. Later in the show, I will be presenting prog from a non-prog band, and this month it will be from the great metal band Black Sabbath.
